Each month, Jackalope donates 20% of the sales from a featured brew in its taprooms to a local non-profit organization. Since 2011, Jackalope has donated over $6,000 to local environmental organizations like TennGreen, The Land Trust for Tennessee, Turnip Green Creative Reuse, Friends of Warner Parks, Walden’s Puddle, Friends of the Smokies, and Urban Green Lab. We call it “VolunBeering”, when our customers are drinking and donating at the same time.

Each year, Jackalope leads a variety of sustainability-focused events with a group of customers passionate about the environment, the Green Team. These include Pick-up For A Pint, a litter pick-up around the Wedgewood-Houston Neighborhood with Turnip Green Creative Reuse and Metro Public Works, Stream Clean-ups with Friends of Warner Parks, and Invasive Species Removals with Owl’s Hill Nature Sanctuary and The Nature Conservancy. As a thank you for their involvement, volunteers receive a token for a free pint of beer from either Jackalope taprooms. To hear about the next Green Team event, check out our Events Calendar.

In July 2019, Jackalope was inducted as one of four pilot members to Tennessee Sustainable Spirits, a program to reduce environmental impact by TN wineries, breweries, and distilleries. We thank TDEC for helping manufacturers like us continually improve our plan towards a sustainable future. A content earth means even more beer, just the way we’d enjoy it.
